Mirijjawila Botanical Garden is one of the five botanical gardens in Sri Lanka. The other botanical gardens are Peradeniya Botanical Garden, Hakgala Botanical Garden, Henarathgoda Botanical Garden and Seetawaka Botanical Garden.
Seethawaka Wet Zone Botanical Garden
Seetawaka Botanical Garden, or Seethawaka Wet Zone Botanical Garden, is one of the five botanical gardens in Sri Lanka. The other four are Peradeniya Botanical Garden, Henarathgoda Botanical Garden, Hakgala Botanical Garden and Mirijjawila Botanical Garden. It is the most recently constructed botanical garden in Sri Lanka. The garden was opened to the public in late October 2014.
Medicinal Plant Gardens, Ganewatte
Being located in the intermediate zone, the Medicinal Plant Garden at Ganewatte offers an ideal site for cultivating a large number of medicinal plants. The garden is 52 acres in extent. About half of the land is occupied by coconut cultivation and 22 acres are occupied by a collection of tropical plants that are used for medicinal purposes. It is situated in the North Eastern Province about 15 miles away from Kurunegala.
The Garden supports conservation, economic development, and education programs in the country and contains an extensive and unique collection of medicinal plants from around the country/world.
