05. Belilena cave – Kitugala
Belilena cave is a bathetic large cave. In order to reach the cave, visitors have to walk through the jungle. 12 thousand year old skeletal remains are found in this cave. Thus, it is one of the best places for caving and caves in Sri Lanka.
06. Batatotalena cave – Sudagala
This cave is about 50ft in height, 60ft in width and 80ft in length. There is an awesome underground cave, partly submerged in a stream. To reach that part, you have to swim about 20 meters. Buddhist literature suggests that this cave is the Sacred ‘Diva Guhawa’ where Lord Buddha rested on his return from Sri Pada.
07. Andirilena Cave – Udagama
Andirilena Cave is located about 4km from Udagama. It is a huge cave, but the entrance of the Andirilena cave is only about 4ft high. After entering the cave, you can see several small caves that joining together.
08. Bogoda cave – Jangulla
Bogoda cave was used by king Walagamba as one of his many hideouts from the invading south Indian forces. It is believed to be part of an extensive network of tunnels which lead to other caves such as Narangala mountain cave, Dowa rock temple Ravana Ella cave.
09. Batadombalena Cave – Kuruwita
Batadombalena cave is located close to Batatotalena Cave in Kuruwita. It can be an unforgettable and amazing experience to enter this cave and discover the mystery inside.
10. Pahiyangala Cave
Pahiyangala cave is situated in Bulathsinhala, kalutara district. It measures about 160ft in height, 150ft in width and 175ft in depth. This cave is known to be the most pre-historic human settlement in Asia.
