'Nidahas Trophy' will be played as scheduled, according to Sri Lankan Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara, states a report in the Bangladesh 'Daily Observer'.
Speaking exclusively to the Bangladeshi reporter, Dayasiri Jayasekara, who was on his way to the stadium for the opening ceremony said, "There is no threat to this tournament."
"Sri Lanka has declared a state of emergency for 10 days because two incidents happened in Kandy and as a precautionary measure; it is only for the ten days.
"Now the situation is very much under control and all matches will be played.
"Security to all teams has been increased and we are happy to host this tournament", he said.
The Indian team is staying at Taj Samudra, whereas visiting team Bangladesh and home team (Sri Lanka) are at Movenpick Hotel.
