A New Jersey lady was condemned to almost six years in jail for compelling a Sri Lankan lady to work for her in her home without pay for a long time, the U.S. Division of Justice declared
Alia Imad Faleh Al-Hunaity, 44, was condemned to 70 months in jail and three years of regulated discharge for compelling the lady into unpaid work, making her exceed her visa for a long time and driving her into marriage so she could remain in the nation.
Al-Hunaity was indicted all in all against her on charges of constrained work, outsider harboring for monetary profit and marriage misrepresentation in May.
Court archives said Al-Hunaity carried the lady to the United States from Sri Lanka on a brief visa in 2009 to perform household work including constraining the lady to cook and clean her homes in Woodland Park and Seacaucus, N.J.m without pay and care for her three youngsters.
She restricted the lady's communications with the outside world and expected her to rest on a bed in an open space in her home including the kitchen, the Justice Department said.
Al-Hunaity additionally constrained the lady to wed her so she could get legitimate living arrangement and Al-Huanity could keep on compelling her to participate in unpaid work.
