At the invitation of President Maithripala Sirisena, the Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong, and President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo will undertake a state visit to Sri Lanka.
The Prime Minister of Singapore is to visit Sri Lanka from January 22 to January 24, while the President of Indonesia’s visit will be from January 24 to January 25.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Singaporean Premier will engage in official bilateral discussios with president Maithripala Sirisena, following which a free trade agreement between Sri Lankan and Singapore will be signed.
Several Memorandums of Understanding are to be inked between Indonesia and Sri Lanka as well, following discussions between the two state leaders.
During their visit, Prime Minister Lee and President Widodo will meet Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to hold discussions on economic, trade and investment cooperation between Sri Lankan and the two countries, respectively.
